- ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪ ✪I'll admit that I am very aware of how media and advertising affects our self-image and esteem. I studied it in college and I changed my lifestyle to cut out the *you're-not-pretty-enough-so-buy-our-product* type messages. They're difficult to avoid, but I find it's important to ignore these messages to have a healthy self-image. That's why I was totally disgusted by the messages plastered all over the walls at this office. I mean, I get that people want to look young and will buy products to do so. But do you have to feed into your patients' poor self image? Everywhere you turn is a little hint that you're not good enough! Open up those pockets, folks! You need better eyelashes, a smaller chin and botox everywhere! I guess this is what dermatology is all about now. At least that's the impression I got from this office.January 07, 2017by Rebecca Fox
